GORE® SKYFLEX® products for aerospace applications

GORE™ SKYFLEX® Aircraft Sealant remains flexible and compliant over many panel and installation cycles.
Gore has designed a variety of GORE™ SKYFLEX® sealant tapes to meet the stringent demands of the aerospace industry. The material is inert to all common chemicals, and it functions over a wide temperature range (-240° to +260°C). It does not age, and it is weather and UV-resistant. GORE™ SKYFLEX® sealant has proven to be the sealant of choice over countless flight hours and on a wide variety of aircraft.

Highlighted below is an application to take advantage of GORE® SKYFLEX excellent stability and tear resistance to solve an aerospace problem.
Case Study – GORE® SKYFLEX® solution – Isolating dissimilar materials to prevent corrosion
GORE® Abrasion-Resistant High-Strength Fabric resists fluids, tearing, and aging or damage from heat and UV exposure. Since it is chemically and electrically inert, it provides an excellent barrier to isolate dissimilar materials thereby preventing corrosion. Use it to seal, isolate, and protect components, antennas, wiring, and aircraft structures in harsh fretting environments such as rotor and tail boom cowlings.
Available in sheets, tapes, or formed shapes, and with or without adhesive; custom shapes can be fabricated to customer specifications.
Use tape to protect the edges of composite parts or panels from damage during installation and maintenance and prevent abrasive damage to the surface coatings of the aircraft structure.
