3M Scotch Weld Structural Film Adhesives

Scotch-Weld is one of the popular brands within 3M that provides adhesives, adhesive films, and blah. The Scotch-Weld Structural Adhesive Films are designed to bond to composites, metal-to-metal, and metal-to-honeycomb components. They have excellent high temperature performance and long-term durability as well as extremely high peel strength. All of the following products are available in a minimum of 36 inch widths and have flexible cure cycles from 275 degrees F to 400 degrees F. The 3109 series is also useable in temperatures down to -67 degrees F.

Void Filler

Scotch Weld EC 3587 B/A is a two part polyurethane that cures at room temperature or with heat to form a tough, impact resistant material.  It provides excellent adhesion to many metals and plastic substrates and is an excellent void/gap filler and fairing compound.

3M Polyurethane Protective Tapes

These rugged, low tack (removable) flame-resistant coatings are designed to withstand impacts, repel moisture, chemicals, and environmental agents.

For specific airplane components, 3M makes a protective boot version of the same product. 3M™ Poyurethane Protective Boots are made of very tough thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer with acrylic adhesive pre-formed to fit many industrial and common aircraft applications (including radomes, wing tips, landing gear, pods, prop spinners, etc.). They provide protection against damage caused by moisture, UV light, wind, sand, rain, sleet, snow and other airborne particles.
